About Us

The Temecula branch of AAUW supports important community services through various activities.  The Branch raises money and awards scholarships to assist women in achieving their goals and becoming valuable community members.

Local Scholarships
For several years the Temecula Valley Branch of AAUW has awarded scholarships to outstanding Community College students who are continuing their education at a four-year college or university.  Students who are enrolled full time and are in good standing are eligible.

Tech Trek
Tech Trek is a week-long residential math/science camp for girls entering the eighth grade.   It features hands-on activities in math, science and related fields. All sleeping, eating, instructional and recreational facilities are located on a university campus where camps are held.  The Temecula Valley Branch raises money to send girls to Tech Trek held on the UCSD campus.  AAUW members volunteer as dorm moms and other tasks.

Educational Foundation
The AAUW Educational Foundation has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe. One of the world’s largest sources of funding for graduate women, the Educational Foundation is providing $4.5 million in funding for more than 250 fellowships, grants, and special awards to outstanding women in the 2008-09 academic year. For more information on fellowship opportunities visit this web site.  AAUW branches support EF through donations and local fund-raisers. Recipients are available as speakers to the branches.

The Legal Advocacy Fund
Supports women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in higher education.
